Hollywood for Habitat for Humanity has partnered with the Music Builds Tour this summer for a 24-city tour with several Christian rock bands, including Third Day, Switchfoot, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, and Jars of Clay.  

On September 14, the Music Builds Tour will play at the Nissan Pavilion.  For every ticket sold, $1 will be donated to the Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park Habitat for Humanity affiliate.

In an effort to spread the word, we are asking you to help us with this project.  Any kind of help, whether you are a business or organization or an individual, whether you simply post the flyer or you organize a group to go to the concert, would be greatly appreciated.

The Music Builds Tour is offering discounts to any group of 15 or more. Groups also have the opportunity to win 30 Meet and Greet passes to meet the band members – passes go to the group who sells the most tickets!  

Remember, the more people who take advantage of this great concert, the more Habitat and your local community will benefit!  If you would be willing to display a small poster, similar to the flyer, just let us know and we’ll give you as many as you like.

Our Habitat for Humanity affiliate has responded to a tight real estate market by developing a home repair program for low-income homeowners called A Brush With Kindness that currently provides home repairs for one to two homeowners each month. The focus of the program is on exterior repairs including roof, window, door, trim and siding replacement and painting, but also provides interior repairs when damage has been caused by exterior problems or if there is a health or safety hazard for the homeowner.

We are currently looking for an AmeriCorps Team Member who will work with homeowners and the faith community to build partnerships that support the A Brush With Kindness program and increase the number of homeowners that are being assisted in the community. The AmeriCorps Team Member will be trained to qualify and assist the homeowners through the application process. They will provide outreach to the faith community to introduce them to the A Brush With Kindness program and garner their support through volunteerism. And they will lead the homeowners, volunteer teams and faith community on the worksite to ensure a quality home repair process.
